I'm a CEC inland candidate.
I started working in Jan 15, 2015 and still working in the same position for the same employer.
A week ago, I was having CRS points for one year - 40 points
Today I got an email from IRCC for my old EE profile (which I have withdrawn due to issue) created before Nov 19, saying that the issues are fixed and I would be able to update my profile..
This got me thinking if my active EE profile was affected in any way, so I logged in and to my surprise, I had been given points for two-year work experience -53 points.
Since I started working in Jan15, 2015, technically two years should be till Jan15, 2017 right?
My question is, if I do get an invite for the next draw(which I'm sure I will ;D) do I need to provide reference letter showing 2-years experience or a letter of explanation should be enough?
They calculate points based on a whole month. If you get an invite now, you will be rejected as you haven't completed a whole year. Change the start date to Feb so you don't get the points early.
The only exception to that would occur if you got points 'in advance' as you indicated in your previous message. In such cases, one has to wait until one is eligible to claim those points and then submit the post ITA application. One need NOT decline the ITA received based on legitimate and accurate information provided in one's application. This shouldn't be a challenge anymore as one has up to 90 days for application submission after receiving an ITA.
What that means in your specific case is that even if you get an ITA anytime before completing 2 years of work experience, you need not decline that ITA but wait until you complete 2 years at work before submitting your post ITA application. You can also choose to add a note in the LOE to highlight this reason for the 'relative delay' in application submission.
