Oh man, this is how it works. No matter u live single or as a family of 2, CIC still assumes u need a 1 bedroom apartment. therefore the assumption is that 1 person will pay atleast 11000, whereas if the person brings a dependent, there will be extra expenses, but most of them are very much shared, like car, groceries, rent etc.
Remember these funds are calculated based on Canada's Cost of living index per capita. So doesn't mean this much will be more, but this is the minimum that they want to see.

Don't think too much, just follow the rules. If you are on your own, bring $11'000 or more, should you be two people, then $14'000 or more. That is it!
