I wanted to relate my Poe experience. I entered Canada via Toronto Pearson although the I'm attending Dal in Halifax. The officers were very friendly and didn't ask questions. I presented our passports and introduction letters from the embassy, together with my admission letter, confirmation of enrollment letter, receipt of first year tuition paid. No questions were asked. He went ahead to print out our study and open work permits. We also applied for SIN at the airport.

Hope this helps someone and safe travels.

hey did he mention that the letter of introduction is necessary? I haven't received mine yet.

Yes. They will take a look at it. Try to contact your embassy, for it. Or send them a case specific enquiry.

The confirmation of enrollment is a document from my university that shows that you are registered for the semester. I don't know if all universities have this, but you can find out. I had it so I just added it.

Hey
What's a letter of intro bro? Can you post some lines of it so that I can match whether I have it or not

They would have to send a case specific enquiry to the embassy.

I arrived at Vancouver international airport, whole immigration counters were empty as they had gone on half hour break as told by official so only 1 lady officer was there,i was the only one waiting so she called me and asjed whether i was in a student visa so i said yes,she asked for JUST passport and LOI thats it,and then asked me to sit and wait for 2 minutes. N then issued me study permit.

A little deviating question but i am not able find a proper answer to this in the forum. You guys are the best to answer

During your entry to canada, did they check your electronic gadgets (mobile, laptop, memorycards, flash drives, HDD) for piracy or illegal softwares/music.

Hope someone here will give a clear idea.
