hi Experts ..
..i just got my PPR request for PR family sponsorship(outland).i am currently in Canada as visitor and i will send my passport to Ottawa .. i had exam in my home country in 24 of june...my question after my passport come from ottawa what the next steps??.do i have to apply for my first PR card ? will i get my PR card before i travel ?and if it is not come before that date and i went back?
Others can comment as well but when you get your passport back with your COPR you would need to either flagpole at a US/Canada land border to activate your PR status and apply for your PR card at the same time. However it could take at least 6 weeks or more to get your PR card after landing, no guarantee.
Alternatively as opposed to flagpoling in some areas it is possible to make an appointment with IRCC to activate PR status , but same comment applies for a PR card application 6 weeks or more possibly.
Or you could assuming the COPR validity is far enough in the future beyond your trip return date simply return to your home country with your passport and COPR and complete the landing on your return to Canada, applying for your PR card then.
If you chose the first option and your PR card has not arrived before you travel you would need to apply for a PRTD in your home country which could take weeks to get depending where the application has to be processed.
thanks alot ...i had multientery visa (TRV) .it will end within month (6month valid) ..so can i take my copr and come again after exams? as my trv is valid for 4 years?
