hello seniors.. i need help with making a decision.
Its been 14 months since i've applied for my pr under experience class (old system) and i'm still waiting for my medical. gcsm notes say criminality in progress. eligibility not started. my work permit expired so i'm basically just sitting at home doing nothing on a visitor permit extension.
It occurred to me that maybe i should move back to my home country(pakistan) till the pr is processed. please guide me if its a safe decision as the pr process wont get prolonged. i was thinking id give my upfront medical and leave.. what steps do i need to take ?
do i inform cic if i leave? will they transfer my file out of canada where it might take longer to process.
do they need me to stay in canada for anything till i get my pr?
its been 14 months since ive been here so maybe i should wait it out now?
It depents on your work permit.
If it is still valid, you shouldn't have a problem.
In all other circumstances it could be a problem to go back to work.specialy when you are in implied status.
In all circumstances I should notify CIC, and aply for a re- entry document. ( on your workpermit is shown: "this is not a re-entry document).
In the old system i can be very long till you will get your PR. ( see other threads)
There shouldn't be any problem as they communicate via email. But you need to inform them when you change your home/mailing address. For visa stamping, you need to request them to change the stamping location inside your home country.
My timeline is similar to yours and I left Canada a year ago. CIC use to communicate with me via email. But yes, I work for the same employer.

I just figured that if i leave canada and tell them ive gone they would take longer to process the file as its not processed inland anymore. Atleast thats what i thought. Also cant i change the visa office once they ask for the passport?
its upto u to leave canada after your AOR ... it wont affect your file ... only thing that will change is you giving a PCC again .... police clearance certificate if they ask for it if not its all good
