Hello. I would like to ask advise to anyone who has idea about my situation. Right now I have TRV w/ OWP and I am planning to take some IT courses. Pls. see the some situation below:

1. I am taking A+ (PC Troubleshooting) course which will run from May 2013 up to end of August 2013. I think I will not need any study permit because this will be finish in less than 6 months. Is this right?

2. Will I need study permit if I will just take a certificate course or recognition of achievement (different colleges have different terminologies)? This certificate courses or recognition of achievement (ROA) have 5-6 subjects to finish. But it's not possible to finish it in 1-2 terms or less than 6 months because the school or colleges doesn't offer all the subjects in 1-2 terms. The fastest way to finish the 5-6 subjects will take 3 terms which I think is equivalent to 9 months.

3. Is it true if I apply for study permit I need to study full time? Do CIC allow part time student with my current status?

Thank you in advance for your advises :)

1. Yes you don't need study permit for a course less than 6 months.

2. Yes, you will need study permit in this situation as the program will stretch to 9 months.

3. If you're holding a study permit, Then you need to study Full-time.

Good Luck.
