This is a call out to all of those who applied in May 2010 and had their files transferred to a local office, NY in particular in March, 2011, to please kindly post their experience with NY (or any other visa office) after your file had been transferred.
In the correspondence from Buffalo office in March, they stated that your file was transferred to a local visa office (NY in my case) and that we "do not request the status of your file within ninety (90) days of the date of this letter". I know that 90 days are almost over for many of us who use this forum. So just out of curiosity, it would be great to know if anyone did get to hear back about their application once it got transferred over to a local visa office, or anyone who had contacted them right after 90 days have elapsed.
Your status indicates that your file got transferred on March 1st, which means that the 90 day time period during which one is not supposed to contact the NY office is over. Are you planning on contacting them any time soon. Mine is over in about a week or so, and I wasn't sure if I should email them right away. What do you say ?
Hi guys i am in same boat too. i dont know. but i gota feeling that they will tell me what to do sometime in July or August. we will see what happens. i will update what i get guys.

Yes, I guess effective today, the "no contact" order has expired. As much as I want to pounce on them, I know my BFD ("bring forward date" or scheduled review) is next week, so I'll be patient another week. Still, it does seem that the squeeky wheel is rewarded, so as soon as your 90 days are up, I see no reason to hold back...
LOL, gwp - not everyone gets their file transferred to other local consulates "to expedite processing" (really, to distribute the work load). But for those who do, instructions state that you should not contact the consulate for 90 days, so that's the 90 day (3 month) "no contact" order (on top of the "11 months").
So you must have had a CAIPS files retrieval recently to know that your BFD is next week. Well certainly hope to hear some good news from you. You've been pretty helpful through this immigration process my friend
I'll wait until next week. I know that CIC tends to send out emails on Tuesdays so I am really hoping that I'll get something next week. If not, I'll send them an email, besides, I need to update my address anyways as I just got the keys to my new apartment and will be moving in next week.
I had already ordered my CAIPS file and it came surprisingly late, I was wondering if I can order another one as well, or are we allowed to order once only.
