Hey experts,

I have been practicing IELTS writing for 2 weeks now. Since IELTS has sufficient amount of resources online, I have had no issues finding study materials.

However, when I do Writing and Speaking or even when I see sample answers, it is very difficult to know what band I should expect. I cannot afford any classes or tutors so I would love to have your help because you all have taken IELTS several times!

Here's the Google Doc link which I will update on a regular basis. My goal is to score 7 (CLB9) in writing, but please don't give me any false hope and be realistic! Also, I would be greatly appreciated if you can leave some comments on good/bad things you see in my writing.

I am very lucky that I can do this online. Much, much appreciated!

I don't think anyone can help in that regards here as no one knows how IELTS graders do thing. Quickly reading I can already spot mistakes that might cost you points: "we would like to book two rooms" not "for two rooms" It could be a typing error but remember how it will look like for examiners. Another mistake for example: " I would be greatly appreciated" is wrong. Either "I would greatly appreciate" or "I would be grateful" Small things but they can make all the difference.

Thanks for your input! I do agree that nobody here can grade as accurate as IELTS examiners, but at least I get to know where I am standing!

I'm not an examiner, but I would rate your writing as intermediate/advanced intermediate. Probably a 6 or 6.5. The letter conveys most of the information, but there are grammatical errors and the sentence structure is somewhat labored.

The good news is that you're not too far away from a seven. When are you planning to retake the test? I can give you a few pointers depending on how much time you have.

Hi!
I am a former Cambridge IELTS examiner and CELTA Certified instructor. What kind of help are you looking for? Perhaps I can help you?

That would be very helpful! Well I need any help that can boost up my score to 7.0 or 7.5 to be safe.. I guess articles and prepositions are my weaknesses? I don't even know what kind of help I need. That's the problem!

Could you quickly skim through my writing and see from which parts I am losing marks? Thank you!

Thanks for the comment. This is exactly what I was looking for!
Well, I am planning to take (for the first time) on November 11th. Could you give me some help please? Can you elaborate what you meant by grammatical and structural errors? Thank you!

New writings updated! Please have a moment to take a look and don't forget to comment and grade!

I am myself writing my test on 11th to improve my writing score, This is my second attempt and based on what I read on the google docs page, you can fetch 7 or 7.5 band.
only thing I can point out is to read once you write or think the complete sentence before you write , if you have that much time, this will help and you wont make mistakes .This worked for me .

i don't think this forum is the best place to do so. I don't think a lot of people here have the time to check your writings every time you add something new. Have you try using grammarly to upload your writing? or (i think i suggested it before) taking an IELTS prep course?

I always use Grammarly but it hasnt' been a huge help as my biggest issues are content and structural.. :(
Sadly, I just can't afford prep courses... So the comments like yours are definitely a huge support for me!

New writings have been updated! Thank you all in advance ;)
