Please help!

My girlfriend (Canadian) have been seeing each other for a year and two months. I arrived here 7 months ago on a 1 year hol/work visa from Ireland (I hold both Irish and UK citizenship). This runs out in Jan 2012. We have been living together since then. My name is on the lease of our apartment. Can we apply for a common law visa so that I can stay? Any advice you could give would be most welcome! She has used her UK visa so she can not return with me. It was 8 years ago when we first met. Thank you, Ryan

You can apply as common law once you have lived together for a minimum of one full year.
