Hello, I'm wondering if someone could please help me out with some information. I was sent a letter to leave canada 2 years ago after living in canada LEGALLY for almost 10 years and I didn't leave. I love this country very much and it has provided me with lots of wonderul opportunities and most importantly a wonderful loving girlfriend I one day wish too marry. Is there anything I could do for me to stay LEGALLY and not have to look over my shoulder every time.

Since you have been in Canada illegally for so long, your only option would be to either marry your girlfriend or to live with her for a year to become common law so that she can sponsor you for PR. This isn't guaranteed to work and there is always some chance your application may be refused - however it's really your only option at this point to legalize your status from within Canada. You should expect that the sponsorship application will be extensively reviewed by IRCC since they may have concerns that you have entered into a marriage/relationship of convenience in order to remain in Canada based on your immigration history. You will need to ensure the relationship is genuine and that you provide strong evidence to prove this.
