I have my COPR in hand and am required to land before 17 Jan 2018. I am currently in the UK as I returned here from Canada in April for family reasons (I was on a work permit then visitor extension).
So I'll be landing by air into Alberta.
I want to get my PR card asap and then return to the UK because of the ongoing family issues here (won't go into it obviously). How long does it take to get my PR card, and can I leave Canada before it arrives in the post or do I have to wait? I can give my girlfriend's address in Alberta as the postal address for delivery.
Also, upon landing will I get asked a lot of questions or is it usually pretty smooth?
Any help greatly appreciated, as I've got a lot on my plate right now. Thanks!
Ok thank you! Do I need to get the PR card air mailed out to me in UK or can I re-enter without it? I'll be returning in November / December hopefully but the reason I need to get this sorted asap is because it's not concrete and I desperately don't want my PR to expire.
So as the PR card is delivered to an address in Canada only, I'll need this airmailing out to me.. is that allowed? If so I'm concerned it may get lost in the post (doubtful but always a possibility).
