I have accepted offer letter from two universities. Now,my friend is saying this is wrong as I am holding a seat that can be given to some other student and that the universities have copy of passport so they can take action against me if I didnt take admission after accepting the offer? I am really worried.. I accepted both as one of them is conditional so i was afraid if i couldnt meet the condition then i may not loose both univerisites .. please tell me should i send an e-mail to one of the univ declining the admission?

The University has little option to do anything against you. Don't let people scare you. But... look at it this way: if you were on a waiting list you would be happy for that seat. And the sooner you give that up the sooner they can approach another student. Its not a matter of crime/punishment; its about doing the right thing. Email the university you do not want to go to and let them know that you have had a change in circumstances and you are very sorry but you will be withdrawing your application from further consideration.

you can apply more than one university at a time but you have to confirm your seat / enrollment only one university ... Please clear your mind, Valid letter of acceptance is only which you will send with your visa application and the other acceptance letters will automatically be canceled.

If you get the student visa then you must attain/start classes to your university atleast one semester and then you can change your universty by 2nd semester ... Try to stick with one university and when you get the visa then go and start 1 semester and after 1st semester if you dont like the university then change it ... NOTE : you can change your university one one time otherwise you may lose your visa credibility !!! so play sound!!!!

Dear Rashmi,

There is no harm in accepting two offer letters unless they ask for registration fees or anything else.
Move according to your comforts. College can not take any kind of action.
It is student who can ask for refund of whatever non-refundable fees he/she has given
on showing other universities offer letter.

However you should decide ASAP and let the other university free,that would be only beneficial to you.

This post is kinda funny. Obviously no one can take action against you for holding the seats.
Everyone apply to 3-4 Universities.
Just choose 1 university and go ahead with your processing.
