My friend has applied for opening GIC account on 13th nov. He has not received account number yet, so it is highly unlikely he will receive GIC certificate on time. His consultant advised him to file for visa with a swift copy (from local bank) of wire transfer of $10,100 instead of actual certificate.
My question is, is it recommended to file for visa with a swift copy of wire transfer? Has anyone done this before?
dude it took me 21 days to receive GIC (funded on 25th oct)..what u can do now is wait till last week of DECEMBER and till then communicate with the NOVA SCOTIA Bank
u can call on the number +14162883062...a customer care representative will answer ur phone ..then u can talk to that person and tell him ur problem ..if u think this person wont understand ur language or accent tell him to transfer the call to the extension number 63085 and talk to DEVENDRA ..he is an indian so u can tok to him in ur language ..if u dont get it by december last week just go ahead with the swift copy ...and attach a paper explaining that u did not receive ur GIC certificate even after funding it ..thats it u r done ..all da best
I would advise him to wait until the GIC certificate is issued. It usually takes 10 days. I had funded my account on 29th October and got the certificate on 7th November, and my cousin also got his certificate within that time frame. Wait another 3-4 days and apply with the certificate is what I will recommend.
I have got instructions from SCOTIA bank for wire transfer and I have my account in SBI so how can I perform wire transfer?
I went in branch but they didn't know anything about international fund transfer so please help me if anyone knows exact process with SBI..
