I received my approval to sponsor my husband from mississugua Nov 19 2010 they said they were transfering our files to Mexico city, it has been 2 months and i still can't log into ecas so i sent an email to mexico city and they just replied yesterday saying they have not recived our file yet from Missisagua. Is this normal after two months?
I'm a little worried.
i am going through a different embassy. but i was never ever able to log on to e-cas or anything and i am almost at the end. i.e. i got passport request. yet i was never placed on the e-cas system.
so they are lax at updating. doesnt mean that your file is lost. And i got AOR about 1.5 months after they sent the file to the embassy which took 3 weeks.
well if you feel weird about it. call the call centre number. they should be able to tell you something.
btw..my hubby who was the sponsor was able to log on to see what was happening with his application in missiguaga but i as the applicant was never able to log and see what was happening at the embassy.
Hey canda... I just want to let you know i went through a similar situation... I received the letter stating I was approved as a sponsor on July 9, 2010 and I was visiting hubby at the end of October and we had questions so we decided to go to the embassy... The guy there told me they didn't have his name in the system and that they didn't have his application... I almost lost my mind lol.... I was so devastated....
Upon my return I called the call center the number is 1-888-242‑2100 and they told me someone to contact me within 30 days to let me know what is going on with my file... I was unhappy with this and I went straight to my MP office who called Ottawa and was able to find out that my file was indeed in Jamaica and in process.
About a week later I received a letter from CIC stating that my file was transfered to Kingston, Jamaica on July 6, 2010. Then hubby received an AOR letter in November... so 4 mths after the application was transfered.
As per ecas, I know lots of people that it never is updated in fact mine only says that I was accepted as a sponsor but nothing else when it should say that my hubby application for permanent residence is in process. I know for the the Kingston office it seems like they update e-cas when people have landed.
lonely_wife i have got in contact with my mp they are sending me an email today to fill out a form hen they can help me. thank you sooooooooo much for your help i will keep you posted. Wish me luck!
Also i am outside of Canada a the moment and i used a US number to get in touch with the call center in Canada that i found on another thread and it works. 1-613-944-4000
It may mean that your file is safe and sound in their office, but it is in a pile with other applications. I don't think you should worry yet since many people have been in the similar situation and then 'bam' a few months later out of the blue they either receive a letter or email notification. It seems as if each office as well as CIC officer has their own 'way' of doing things just to confuse the situation. For example, I was told that the London office doesn't issue AORs.

So i spoke to someone at the call center and they said they had sent our electronic application, he said that the actual application can take quite while??????
Anywho i have also spoke to my MP and they are sending me a form to fill out via email then i will send it back to them and they will inquire for me.
To be continued....... ;D
