please can someone help me on the best advice if I will definitely need IELTS for FSW because I had all my educational studies doing my PhD now and I live in England and am from Nigeria ?

IELTS mandatory for FSW. Your phD in England doesn't exempt you from the requirements.

Yes - I'm an American and I took IELTS as well. Doesn't matter where you come from and your educational background - you NEED to take IELTS

Yes, not only, IELTS is mandatory, but you have to get a minimum band score of 6 in each skill for FSWP and of 5 for QSWP in order to get points.
 
Hi

I am English by Birth with all my education completed in the British education system and I still had to do the test. If your comfortable with the language then it should not be an issue, it's just an inconvenience but a small price to pay.
