Please Assess My Profile

Hello friends,

I am applying for general visa for Jan 2014 intake. I have secured admission Information Security Management (1 yr PG) in Fanshawe College, London.

My Profile:

10th - 72.53%
12th - 64.57%
BE (IT) - 51.6% (aggregate) and 56.93% (final year) (16backlogs)
IELTS - 8.0 (L-9, R-8, W-7, S-7)

Fees Paid for the entire course (about 7.5 lakhs)
GIC - done
Medical- Done
Liquid assets- about 7-8 lakhs

I am applying for the first time. I am worried about backlogs being the reason for my rejection. I have 16 backlogs as mentioned above and I completed my engineering in 5 years (2008-2013). I failed in the first year and so I had to sit out to clear those backlogs. I didn't have a single backlog in the last 3 semesters. I have written an SOP where I have tried to explain those backlogs and need advise from you guys on whether I should add more and what are my chances of getting the visa.

NEVER..!! I say NEVER...!!! Never post ur SOP online.. or anything else that u gonna say to VO guys..
This is a personal statement that shows ur genuine n unique.. U dnt want people copying it and calling it "inspiration"..

plagrsm is serious in canada like all other developed countries.. so this cud win u an outright rejection if someone else uses this SOP before u, or even after u in some cases..
get it ?

Ur IELTS is smashing so nothing more to be done there..

U dnt have any work ex so the only thing that makes your background is the education here..
that too is BE more importantly..

So first thing is to go for a PG Certi - or a masters degree only..
I see u already know that..

Then.. the course selected shud compliment your BE..
now m not a science guy but what did u do ur BE in ? I mean the major..

Coz the PG certi u choose should b in congruence to that.. otherwise VO can give u the same old reason "course chosen not appropriate in light of past education"

U dnt wana give them that chance..

Also, why u not goin for SPP as this is ur first attempt ??

I have done my BE in Information Technology. As for SPP, backlogs is the sole reason I am applying under general since I can show financial backing and my father's ITR. The reason I took GIC is because I can't show a bank loan for my living expenses. I paid the fees for the entire course to strengthen my case financially.
