I am a nurse in the Philippines with 5-years experience.
I arrived Canada in April, 2015 and worked with my employer for a year as a live-in caregiver. I was just released last April 30th, due to some misunderstandings and am currently looking for a new employer.
I got engaged in February, 2016. My Canadian fiance and I plan to have our church wedding in the Philippines, sometime August, 2018.
I currently live with my fiance while looking for a new employer. I found out that it will take at least 9 months more or less to get an LMIA from a new employer.
With this current situation we are facing, he proposed that we get married here in Canada and sponsor me.

Yes LMIA processing time takes soooo long. If I were you get married here and ask your fiance to sponsor you as immigrant. You are lucky to have a fiance here and willing to marry you some of my friends got released by their employers too and they're here for almost 2 yrs but they're still waiting for their new work permit. Once he sponsored you, you don't need to work as live-in caregiver.
