Hi - I am currently in India, I applied online for a job in Canada and the employer is ready to hire me.
Now I need to know if i need to apply a for Open WP or VISA.
I need to be able to work for different employers. I am familiar US visa's
With US VISA with L1 - You can work only for that employer who is processing your L1
With H1 - You can work for different employers (I mean you change jobs)
Can someone please advice what VISA/WP should i apply fro CANADA , so that i can work for different employers.

The employer that is willing to hire you will have to apply for a Labour Market Opnion (LMO) from HRDC Canada. This is a complicated process which takes time. Once approved, you will have to apply for a closed work permit that will allow you to work for that particular employee only.
You cannot apply directly for an open work permit in this particular situation
