plane tickets help!

i was just wondering because i have read that we need to buy roundtrip tickets for supervisa holders when coming to canada.i just want to ask how long is the duration of the ticket since with supervisa there is a possibility that you will be allowed to stay for more than 6 months.should we buy a roundtrip ticket within 6 months or we can buy a roundtrip ticket with a longer duration?please help
