I worked as an Operations Support Engineer in an Oil corporation in the UK for a full-time paid role. This was during my penultimate year and I worked for over a year (48 hrs+). Would this year count as a year of work experience? CIC mentions about co-ops and apprenticeship but my understanding is that placement year is neither of them. I tried to write to IRCC but I'm not sure if they will reply back to my query.
I would highly appreciate if I could get some guidance on this. Overall, I have 2 years of work-experience. If I remove this experience from my profile, it does not have any impact on my CRS score. However, I'd like to be sure coz this seems like a grey area.
Work experience eligibility no matter how it is named classifies as work experience for IRCC when:
1) It is full time, or even part time but adds up to at least a year
2) Paid either monthly, yealry or weekly throughout the course of work.
If these 2 conditions are there you could claim your one year experience towards your CRS score given you could prove that using the reference letter with all your job duties and responsibilities as well your salary.
