Can some guide me. I got my G1 driving license in july 2010 and got expired on july 2010. Can i renew it or i have to give test again

I think you got the dates wrong! Driver license was issues in July 2010 and expired in July 2010 as well?
Usually the G1 is valid for 5 years, so you can take you’re G2 after completing 8 or 12 months

my G1 driving license expired in july 2015. I was out of canada and could not get G2, i just have G1. I heared expired D L can be renewed within one year from expiry date. Is it true? Or what should i do now
