Just curious, did anyone currently living in the US have any luck just going to a regular passport place (local drugstore/walmart/wherever) to have the application pictures taken? Having recently gotten passport pictures for my American passport, it kinda feels unlikely that the people who took that picture would be able to take a picture with different dimensions /requirements etc, but has anyone been able to do so easily?? Or is a photographers studio the best bet??

We are in Michigan. We went to Moto Photo with the page for the Canadian Passport photo requirements and had not problems with the photos, they were accustomed to taking Canadian spec photos. We dont have PR approval yet but I dont think that the photos were wrong. The only thing I wish I had realized was that we would need so many 4-5 for the DMP and then another 2 or 4 (cant even remember anymore) for the application. We should have gotten them all at once. It would have been easier.
thanks all - I called the local walmart and their "passport photo" service is just with the one set of dimensions, but there is a portrait studio there too, which will be able to help us.
And thanks for the advice - I think we'll just get a whole bunch of pictures done at once - we need 5 for the DMP and another for the application - and then more for the visa itself, correct? Might as well get 10-12 pictures done at once, and save ourselves from having to do it again, I guess.
