The physical presence calculator is asking me to input all trips before I came to Canada as a permanent resident. I have countless vacation trips and I am not sure the relevance of these for calculating my physical presence when I have inputted that my PR was the first time I entered Canada. I know the time falls in the 5 years but just wanted to understand the reason why the calculator is asking me for these trips as they are before my first/pr entry in Canada. Thank you!

I had the same question and people advised to put all trips after becoming PR. However, If you had any other status in Canada ( i.e. Student, work permit, visit etc.) before PR and it falls under 5 years then yes you should list all trips.
It's not a matter of its relevance but it's just how it is suppose to be It's a part of the whole process. They're not gonna ask for it if they won't use it at some point. As to how and where will they use it, no one really knows.
