Hi everybody,
Recently I heard that in the1st year of phd studies, students can apply for permanent residency under Federal Skilled Worker. Since, research will be considered as a work experience. And this is how he got his PR.
I checked this link and it seems that it is not possible.

I know many years ago PhD students were able to do that, but my friend get it recently.
