Please, read whatever official information is relevant and available. Start with ontarioimmigration.ca/en/pnp/OI_PNPSTUDENTS.html#_phd. If you have a Master's degree already, you can go with option 3. Otherwise, wait until you graduate, unless rules change again.
thanks for the reply

In this link it is mentioned that I can apply if 2 years is completed in PhD. I will be done with my two years in this August. I hope I can apply in September. I was mainly worried about the bank balance as am not sure how much I need so that my application dont get rejected. As a student it is hard to maintain a big bank balance.

In this Q&A page, ontarioimmigration.ca/en/pnp/OI_PNPQUESTIONS.html, they write they need to see a "satisfying level of funding to establish" yourself in ON, since no job offer is required. Thus, the more you show, the better. However, as a PhD student, you must be getting some funding from your college. I'd expect an average of 20K a year for a PhD student. Thus, that would be sufficient, in my opinion.
Thanks again Empirical-Scientist
Yes I am getting around $30,000 per year but a lot of it goes in tuition fees, rent and other expenses. I have a stable amount of around $7,000 in my bank from last 7-8 months. Is this sufficient to show. Someone told me that your bank balance should be above $10,000 from last six months only then your application will be considered. Thats why I was worried.
Hi,
I have question please should we get IELTS to apply for PR after being nominated.
