Yes, i could re-enter Canada with a V-1 visa 2 times with no issues, obviously i had to show my SP and/or WP to the officer

What happens if your WP is expired but you still want to enter Canada? Does the standalone TRV grant you permission to enter Canada?

It depends, if you have made application to renew your WP, you might be granted entry as a worker, or else you would be granted entry as a visitor instead if your WP has expired and you don't have an existing application with IRCC. The CBSA officer will make the final determination.
