I'm a co-op student in Ontario and am wondering about the conditions for co-op programs to satisfy "They have maintained full-time student status in Canada during each academic session of the program or programs of study they have completed and submitted as part of their post-graduation work permit application.".
I have kept a full-time study/co-op status for 4 years, finished all my co-ops, and have only 4 courses left. Since only 3 of them are offered this term, and I really want to drop one of them, that will make both Spring 2020 and Fall 2020 part-time terms with 2 courses each. I know regular students are allowed to study part-time in Spring, and the last term can be part-time as well for everyone, I just want to confirm the situation for co-op students like me.
If a rejection could incur, is there any way to help other than taking the course?
Any knowledge or similar experience with either success or rejection will be much appreciated!
Thanks for replying! Do you have any knowledge regarding the scheduled break rules? I read from a lot of sources that Spring is special and students can be part-time/full-time/off as they like, and I'm wondering if this will make my situation better.
Update: Graduated Dec 2020, applied for PGWP on March 17, and got it approved today on April 16, in 30 days! The process is a lot quicker than I expected. I simply added an explanation letter in the client info section saying that I didn't have that extra part-time term deliberately, and got it approved straight up. No extra documents needed. I guess IRCC is much more friendly than what they describe themselves on their website

Hi Ricey, this is late but congrats on getting your PGWP approved!
I'm in sort of a similar situation. I have 2 part-time semesters where I did my co-op work placement in Summer 2022 and a retaken failed course in Fall 2022. I wanted to do the co-op and the 1 course together, however the course wasn't available for my designated campus in the summer, which was why I had to do it the following term.
I'm planning to write about this in my LOE for PGWP but I know I'll most likely be refused. How did you explain the situation in your own letter?
