PGWP Expired . Waiting for LMIA .

Hi ,

A friend of mine is here on a student permit and the work permit got expired this year and an extension was applied in Feb . The same person also has applied for LMIA through the employer in October . Since any work permit extension for PGWP needs LMIA, the reference number to LMIA was given and now a decision has been made on the work permit application and it was rejected. Now, the person has got 90 days to stay in Canada without any status(implied status ) and if the LMIA has not been processed yet, the person will have not other choice than to leave Canada ( even if LMIA is still under processing ) .

Could someone clarify , if there can be another student permit applied during this period so that the stay can be extended ?

sorry to hear this..i sure this is because of the new express entry system. No place for students in canadian immigration. well ur friend will need admission to a college/university and will need to apply for a study permit. only good news for him is he can apply for study permit within canada.
