PGWP and TRV/eTA

I am an international student and my study visa expires by this May end. So i would be applying for my PGWP for 3 years right after i graduate.

My question: can i apply for PGWP and travel visa together? i am planning to go out of Canada and visit my country which needs visa approval for re-entry to Canada. I am not even sure if i need TRV or i can get it online eTA? Also, if i have to do it separately, then how long will it take for PGWP and then Visa?

1. No, you can't apply for PGWP and TRV together. For TRV, you will first need a valid study/work permit.

I wonder if this is still the case in 2021? I need to apply for both PGWP and TRV together from inside Canada.

I wonder if this is still the case in 2021? I need to apply for both PGWP and TRV together from inside Canada.

Once you receive a PGWP, you can apply TRV against it. I am waiting for my PGWP and will have to apply TRV as well inside Canada. I am told Inside Canada TRV's are getting processed in 2 weeks apparently.
