I am completing my EE application for permanent residence as I got ITA.
Under the Personal History:
List any organizations you have supported, been a member of or been associated with at any time. Include any political, social, youth or student organization, trade unions and professional associations.
Options under the activity type are employment, organization, educational activity, retired, government, military, unemployed, incarcerated, homemaker.
I listed organizations that I was part of during my college days. These were from the many clubs and organization available to the students in the university. I was a student member (e.g. Rotaract).
Should I select educational activity or organization only?
there is also a mandatory field for (1) Please provide the name of the company, employer, school, or facility as appropriate and (2) Name of organization.
Should I write the name of the school for no. 1 or write the name of the student organization/club in no. 1 and 2?
activity type: organization
what this person is doing: student member
name of company/employer/school/facility: i wrote here the name of the organization and the school e.g. Rotaract Club of Harvard University
name of the organization: i wrote again the name of the organization and the school e.g. Rotaract Club of Harvard University
I am now on PPR stage so i suppose what i did is fine.
Hey, thank you so much for your response. I was being told that listing all my organizations would go against or like delay my application, so was getting really concerned. I have my law and some other organizations like these to add. I will add them as requested, it would be fine, right?
If you did nothing wrong during those period, if they are not extremist organizations or promoting violence, rebellion etc , I do not see any reason why IRCC will reject your application on the basis of your previous organization membership only. I have no idea what are the common reasons for delays in processing except background check just taking a little longer, not immediately submitting the requirements when requested.
My opinion, if IRCC requires it, then as an applicant I will comply as per what is required, whether complying means providing a long or short list. I did not really ask myself "will this delay my application or not?", instead, I asked myself, "am I compliant?"
What you declare on your application is completely up to your own discretion just keep in mind info must always be true and correct. Good luck.
