Permanent Resident Determination Investigation - questions

All,

If one received a PR Determination Investigation question IMM5511 as a result of a PR renewal application - can one withdraw the application now? or is he obliged to proceed with the process? (No Choice)

If one from a visa exempt country abandon or withdraw the IM5511 (not sure if cancellation will be granted), can he come back to Canada without valid PR? or will CIC write a note in his file for CBSA to do the determination at port of entry?

can people with experience help answering?
