I just turned Permanent Resident at the beginning of this month.
However, its so happen that I've got a great position that I've decided to take within the same company - however, the position is in the U.S.
Given the nature of the role, I have to move and live in the U.S.
I've been given an L1 U.S. Visa - an "Intra-company Transfer" category.
The contractual obligation is 3 years.
Since this is an L1 Visa (and not H1B for example), I'm curious how this affects my PR Status, since I won't meet the physical residential obligation for starters.
The "Canadian Business" definition is a bit confusing.
A para legal adviced me that this would be handled on a case by case basis - I'd have to make an appeal and the response is subjective.
Would be of great help if someone can advice or has been in a similar situation before.
