My husband, 3 children and I are looking at relocating to Canada as my parents moved over 5 years ago. My husband has been in the armed forces for 13 years and is now recruiting for the reserves. We were wondering if anyone has any information on how he can apply to join the Canadian forces directly from the UK at the same time as applying for PR and if his 13 years as a signaller would count? All the threads we have read have been dated over 5 years ago and we are aware the legislation has changed in 2015 so wondering if anyone has done this or is in the process of doing this that can help us on where to begin
Thanks
Claire
Even obtaining PR status is going to prove to be a challenge. Have you researched which immigration path is available to you? The Canadian armed forces will not assist your PR application as far as I am aware.

Citizenship
3.3 An applicant is required to be:
a Canadian citizen; or
a citizen of another country who has permanent resident status under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and:
undertakes to become a Canadian citizen immediately when eligible to do so;
provides service that satisfies a special need; and
whose enrolment, in the opinion of the Commander (Comd) Canadian Forces Recruiting Group (CFRG), would not prejudice the national interest.
3.4 An applicant who is both a Canadian citizen and a citizen of another country may be enrolled.
This was my next question... which route should we go it's so confusing where to start! He's a signaller, a physical training instructor has majority of his licences and has been recruiting for 2 years so I don't even know which NOC code he would come under
