Hi, i am a foreign student in the US and have a temp visitors Canadian visa valid up to 5 years. Can i get a work permit or permanent residency in Canada?

Having a visitor visa to Canada and being a student in the US gives you no advantages. You have to apply just like anyone else.

To get a work permit you need to secure a full time job offer in Canada and the employer needs to obtain an approved LMIA.
