Hello ppl,

I got a bit confused today..again!!... its about PCC...i had an impression that post June 26, 2010 that we had to send PCC to the CIO..but from this link it seems to be contrary to my point

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/EG77.asp

does this mean i can apply now and give the PCC later to local visa office if approved..

please help

Shahi

yes pcc will be send after your application accepted.

Thanks a lot Ved2003!!

seems this is the right place to clarify my doubt on PCC. I've asked earlier but didn't get any suitable reply.
My question is not about when & where to submit but when is the right time to start collecting it.

**************************************************************
I am not very clear about PCC, when is the right time to start doing it because as per new rules, CIO doesn't require it but local VO will as for t when CIO transfers one's case to it.

So considering that PCC must not be more than 3 months old while submitting it to local VO, when is the approx. right time to start collecting it.
E.g. if I start doing PCC right now and by the time CIO examines my file and transfers my case to local VO (singapore), 3 months may already be over and PCC no more remains valid.

As I heard that VO gives period of 3 months to submit all required documents and if I again try to get new PCC and if I can't arrange them with 3 months period, my case may be rejected.

So I need to be little bit more clear on when shall I start arranging my PCC?

It also depends on your visa-specific checklist. When we submitted our docs on 23rd August, the CIC website said not to send the PCC at that stage, but the London checklist still explicitly asked for them. Since we'd already paid to get them done we submitted ours with our application. Then 7 days later London changed their checklist to say don't send them now we'll ask for them later.

So, I'd advise to be safe and go with whatever your visa-office specific checklist says. If they are still asking for the PCCs it's probably not worth the risking of omitting them.

Alright thanks Cappuccino, i ll keep that in my mind...i think its better to be safe!
