I am an August applicant. I got my police clearance certificate from US in first week of April 2014, but submitted my PR CEC application in Aug 2014. I got AOR Dec 30 2014.
As per July applicant thread it seems they have started getting MR and it might take one more month for August applicants to receive MR.
I heard that PCC is valid for one year from the date it was issued. since my US PCC is now older than a year by April, Should I apply for US PCC again now ? I have checked with my lawyer about the same & I was told that usually if I do not go back US after obtaining PCC, the current one should be fine. If CIC wants the latest one, they would ask for it.
It seems now it is taking aorund 3-4 months to receive PCC. Please suggest.
I am not entirely sure if they would definitely ask for one or not. But to be on the safer side and if money is not a concern, why don't you go ahead and apply for another one anyway?
At least this way when they come back to you requesting for one again, I am guessing roughly one month of processing time would have gone by. So at that time, instead of requesting CIC for another 4 months you would be requesting 3 or 2. Time line shrinks and that is always in your favour.
Hey,, i have a same problem as urs,, even my lawyer suggested same ,, but i will be applying for a new pcc next week,, mine is getting expired on 30th april,, so if they ask for a new one there will be no waste of time...

Your PCC from any country has to be submitted to CIC within 3 months of having received it. You are correct that it is valid for one year but in order for it to be eligible CIC must receive it within 3 months from the issue date.

They won't reject your application so do not worry!! They will just request an updated PCC but give you like 60 days to submit it. Because and FBI PCC takes like 3 to 4 months now to receive it's best you request one now. Hope this helps.
