Hi Guys, I am starting this thread to clear some confusions related to PCC to be obtained from India. On CIC website, it is written that Residents of Punjab can get the PCC from Sr. Supdt of Police. However, some say that it is invalid and must only be obtained from PSK Passport office.
Irrespective of where you reside in India, better to get PCC from PSK. The PCC format of PSK is accepted by IRCC since it is in an International format.

The PCC from poilce will have a address and your period of stay at that address . if it covers your address history since age 18 it is ok. Other wise get PCC from psk .It has no address and no dates for your stay. It has only passport number.
The PCC from PSK is always accepted by IRCC.
Agree with the above point. If you have only stayed at one address since 18 years and the police certificate from police station covers that, then it is perfectly OK. However, if there are multiple addresses, then better get a PCC from PSK as it is not address bound.
