Does somebody know if name change/adding spouse's name in Passport is must for somebody who is applying as a married candidate?
There is a field called 'Name of Spouse' which is blank in my and my wife's passport (as both of us got Passport before getting married). So, now if I am applying as married candidate, do we need to get each other's name added in Passport before we submit documents for ITA? I read somewhere that adding name in Passport is must if one is appying for PCC indicating that s/he is married. Could anybody get PCC without adding Spouse's name in Passport?
Also does anybody have idea about how long does it take to get Spouse's name added to the passport.. My IELTS expires on July 6th and so really running against the time.. My score is 411 and hopefully I should get ITA by May last week..
No need to have spouse name on the passport. I got PCC even when my spouse name was not on the passport. You just need to submit marriage certificate to passport authorities.

This depends on PSK officers, some might accept as it is and some might ask you to get a new passport.
However, CIC doesn't care if your passport has the spouse name or not. Though it makes easier if you have spouse's name on your passport.
Hi everyone, I have a question.
I applied for my canada PR. I got my ITA. I am Married in 2019 November and my Spouse is not accompanying me. I and my husband live in USA and would like to apply from Chicago Indian Consulate.
My questions are:
1. While applying my Spouse Indian PCC, Should I include Marital Status as Married or Single?
2. I got my PCC 2019 April when I am single and I am intending to use it, as it is not expired yet. Will this effect anything?
3. Does Indian Consulate at Chicago ask for Marriage certificate or Spouse name added to my passport to issue my husband's PCC?
