I am writing this post in order to gain better understanding of what a Police Clearance Certificate need to cover. I am an Indian citizen and working and living in UK at the moment. So I need to go to High Commission of India (through VFS) to obtain the same. There is an application form to fill which also asks for my address in India. But there is just one such column, it doesn’t ask the different addresses I have lived in India. So I am bit doubtful how the PCC will cover for all the different places I have lived in India.
I have lived at different places as per below:
1982 – 1998 : Home (Punjab)
1998 – 2000: Education, Chandigarh
2000 – 2005: Education, Sangrur (Punjab)
Oct 2005 – Dec 2005: Job training Bhubaneshwar (Orissa)
2006 – 2008: Address A, Gurgaon (Job)
2008 – 2009: UK (Job)
2009 – 2011: Address B, Gurgaon (Job)
2012- present: UK (Job)
Can anyone please clear my doubts on what is the exact requirement? And what does a PCC usually cover – its format?
If the application is asking for just one address in India how will it cover other places where I have lived?
If a person in India itself has stayed at different places, is he getting PCC from all different Police jurisdictions he has lived in?
I have read about many rejections happening because of issues with PCC so don’t really want to end up being rejected and hence clearing my doubts.
Would really appreciate a response.
