Paying the fee

Quick question - does the fee need to be paid by the sponsor, or can the principal applicant pay it? i.e. if the receipt we print out and attach mentions the PA's name as it will be via credit card, would that be fine?

I also read an old thread about having to fill out something by hand, but I couldn't find the thread anymore. Can anyone elaborate on that? Is there something we need to manually write out on the receipt?

My husband (the applicant paid the fee) as we are married and we share our finances. As for writing something on the receipt I sure hope we did not have to because I sent our app about 2 weeks ago and I did not write anything ! Can anyone clarify that please?

Is there somewhere on the website where it states the sponsor needs to pay the fee??? And which form are you talking about? When we paid the fees there was no form just the receipt

I'm like ninety percent sure they don't care who pays the fee, so long as it's paid. Maybe I'm wrong though.

I think they changed the receipt format and you don't have to fill anything out anymore. There was a thread with that info, not sure where it is. On mine I had to write in the address, date of birth for me (principal applicant) and UCI# if you have one.
I read that they changed this. I did mine on Sept 28, it changed sometime after that.

It doesn't matter who pays. I put all of my spouse's fees on my CC because it was easier, and there was no issue with her PR.

To reiterate, it doesn't matter at all who pays the fees. Many people don't have credit cards and get a family member or a friend pay the fees for them. CIC doesn't care, as long as the payment goes through and is for the correct amount.
