Before I sent my package to Missisauga, I paid online for the sponsorship fee and main applicant fee. However, I haven't paid the right of permanent residence fees because I was already paying so much for medicals, police checks, etc. But I've heard that this could cause delays, and since I can now afford to pay it, can I pay it now or do I have to wait for them to ask for it? I've now passed the first stage and my application is being processed in my local visa office.
Hi Bongd, you don't have to wait for your visa post to request payment. Not paying the RPRF can cause up to a 60 delay in some cases. I would suggest that you pay the fee online, print the receipt and mail/fax the receipt to CPC-Mississauga. It should clearly indicate that it is for a RPRF payment and should have your Client ID/IMM file # clearly printed.
It will take several weeks for CPC-M to process your payment but eventually they will forward the information to your local visa post.
Thanks Maple Syrup, I've decided to do that. I tried paying online just now, and a webpage loaded that asked me where I'll be sending my application. Do I pick Mississauga or a local visa office?
I am very curious about this topic as I am considering doing the same. I have all the money and papers ready and could theoretically send my application out in January instead of February if I don't have to pay the PR Fee right away. Does anyone have any experience with doing this personally?
nyssa, I'll let you know what happens with my payment But I think you'll be better off sending your application in January instead of holding it off just because of the right of PR fee, which can be paid at a later date. That's just my opinion though.
Thank you, and yes, please keep us posted! This is a topic I'm excited to hear about the outcome for sure. I still have another month before deciding either way. Thank you =]
In case anyone is still interested... I had my husband send the RPRF to Missisauga, and a few weeks later he got a letter back. It said they've received it, and are notifying the visa office of the payment.
That's great! Thank you for the update! Your husband mailed it, correct? I will be faxing it. This is great news indeed as this will be the path I'm taking.
Yeap he mailed it! Also, when I visited the visa office last week, they told me they've already got the notification. It went very smoothly. Good luck!
