Dear All
My wife is sponsoring me & we are both in UAE. We are all done with out application & we just paid our full fee online using my credit card. Now we received the receipt.
1. Shall i tear Copy 1 & send only Copy 2 with my application?
2. Whose details (name, address) i need to write on receipt? My wife's as she is sponsoring me or mine as payment was done using my card?
Please reply urgently as this is the only blocking point for us now.
Thanks in advance.
Can anyone reply to this please?
Its all in the manual:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/3900E.pdf
Page 27, How to pay your fees if you live exclusively outside Canada
You cut off copy 2 and send it in, and you keep copy 1 for your records (it says so on the form). And the payee is the person paying. If its your card, your info goes in the box.
Ok so you mean i fill my information if my credit card is used for payment even though my wife is sponsoring me? Right?
From the manual:
Once you have paid the fees you must:
•print the official receipt;
•fill out by hand the “Payer Information” section;
•attach the bottom portion (copy 2) of this receipt to your completed application
Are you the payer? You said you paid by your credit card so that would make you the payer right?
I hope so. So i fill mine...
Hi guys
my wife Canadian,in Canada,I am in Asia
i have read that, you cann`t pay fees electronicaly if you are outside of Canada
so which way do i have to do this ?
I found this very confusing. First I found out that I couldn't pay electronically if I was sending the application to Buffalo in the U.S., but then I think that a spousal/common law/conjugal application has to be sent to CPC-M (Mississauga in Canada), so the electronic payment is suitable.
Hi all,
I certainly don't mean to sound rude, but it is very clearly written in the manual:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/3900E.pdf
I am particularly refering to the manual with instructions for outland applicaltions (ie, first get sent to mississauga, then to your home country). On page 27, it is clearly written, "How to pay your fees if you live exclusively outside Canada" I do not think they would write it in the manual if you did not have that option. It tells you how to pay online, with specific instructions on how to do that. Then it gives another option that you could also pay with an international bank draft or money order. It then gives specific instructions on how to do that.
So the way I see it, option 1, pay online, or, option 2 international bank draft or money order. Whichever way is easiest and more convenient for you, go for it.
Good luck with your apps!
The reason I was confused was that I decided that outland through U.S. was the way to go, I went to "I want to..." / "Pay my application fees" and clicke that I'm sending my application to Buffalo (because that is the Case Processing Centre for the U.S.) and it told me that I couldn't pay online. It wasn't till several days later that I realized I'm not sending anything to Buffalo. I'm sending it to CPC-M and they are sending it to Buffalo after they approve the sponsorship. At least that's the way I understand it now. I'm 99% sure that I have it right, now.
And I suppose that's the same for all outland spousal/partner applications. They all have to be sent to Mississauga, right?
Yes, outland apps are all sent to Mississauga. Mississauga then sends them out to the appropriate processing center (in your case, Buffalo).
Its all in there: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/3900E.pdf Page 17, "Mailing your application"
When in doubt, read the instructions

Well guys, I paid mine online with a canadian issued credit card and all we did was print out the recipet, send a copy with a letter stating our information to missisuaga office and also send a copy to the office that was handling our case which happened to be accra ghana...this took place dec.2009...we didnt have any issue with it. if u check the cic website, u will see the missisuaga office address that handle payment issues.
This information was given to us by a cic agent when we called thier office.
I hope this helps...remember to keep a copy for urself too.
I don't know if this is right, but we paid online with a U.S. credit card and printed off 2 copies of the receipt. We sent one copy to Mississauga and one to Buffalo, where our app is currently in process. With both receipts we included a cover letter stating that we sent a copy to the other office.
I didn't think the instructions were entirely clear, either. Our application has already been in process for a couple of months now, so I wasn't sure if we should send to CPC-M or Buffalo. So we did both

Hope this helps! Good luck!
