Passports to CPC Ottawa- Nov 2017

Mine is approved in MYCIC.
Delivered on Nov8th
Approved on Dec1st.
Now waiting for the return tracker to be activated !

In these forums there are a few cases where return tracker activation happened on the same day ( last week) and a case from week before last where this took 10 days.
So it is clearly not a straight case of First In First Out but also chance .

I think return tracker gets activated for Passport exempt applicants in 0-2 days while it takes 7-10 days for Passport non-exempt applications.

Please see the other thread in the CEC forum. Some with passports got their return tracker activated on the same day.
It all depends on Canada Post picking up the packages from CPC.
And we can keep guessing and assuming while we wait for the passports to be delivered back

I received this email this morning. My passports were delivered on Nov 8. I did not write to seek any status update. However, I did call a couple of times.

Your passport has been received at our office and will be returned to you shortly. We are currently experiencing a high volume of mail intake and we cannot confirm how long this process will take.
Your documents will be returned using the envelope that you provided. If you have followed the instructions on the website and kept note of the tracking number, you should be able to follow its delivery online.
We thank you for your patience.

I've been told the same thing, that due to high volume of passports their current processing times are taking much longer. My passport got delivered on Nov 10, I asked them the approximate time I can get my pp back, then they said its after Christmas-December 27.

I sent my passport on Nov 14th and Canada Post confirmed my passport was delivered on Nov 16th to CPC Ottawa.

I called CIC today and was surprised to know that my passport was received by CIC on Nov 30th and forwarded to the printing room.

Is this common? When can I expect to see an approval in MyCIC? I was expecting something in the next 1 week as recently people who had their passports delivered on Nov 8th/9th got approved.

I received my Confirmation of Permanent Residence documents yesterday.

Off to New York on Sunday so will activate my PR on my return to Canada. Good Luck Everyone!

those who activated the PR at border, do we pay the fees for PR card at the border itself or it has to be made later?
