PASSPORT VALIDITY

Hi all,

Can anyone please help me.

I am holding Indian passport with expiry date 15th January 2016.

My current visa is valid till 12th March 2015.

I will extend visa for 1 more year.

So, will I get visa till 12th march 2016 or till my passport expires which is 15th January 2016?

Is it advisable to apply for renewal of passport first or to apply for visa extension?

You will get a visa till January 14th,, you should get a renewal of your passport before to apply.

Apply for renewal of passport first. Will be good for you.

Thanks for replying.

I have checked with Indian Consulate in Toronto, they do not renew passport before 1 year so I may have to wait till 15th Jan 2015.

Anyone has experience regarding above rule?

You may want to explain your situation telling them that you have to apply for the visa extension and they may consider your request on that basis. Have a talk with them and see what they say!
