Hello everyone! i'm an american citizen who wants to travel to Canada to visit my husband. We have payed all the fees for the immigration application outland VO Buffalo. I will travel by May with my son (who is canadian) and my husband to the border. We are planning we can visit for 3 months so my husband's family can spend time with the baby and I, then return to work by August in the USA. My passport will expire on September, 2011. My question is: Will they let me in even though my passport will expire in about 4 months? I have heard that sometimes you need a passport that expire in 6 months or more...
Personally if it was me I would renew before I left to be on the safe side. Going through the border with a child will send you directly to immigration usually so why chance being turned around for something so simple. Plus if you get a PPR you want to have the new one anyway....

Yes, better you renew as your passport validity is less than 6 months. As you are planning for the trip in May you have sufficient time for getting the passport renewed.
Really! Thanks for the info! If this is true and official, maybe it can be a possibility for me to travel with my current passportin May without issues. After paying all the fees for the application, ($1040) maybe my husband can have some relief!
