I have an oversea spouse who got passport request letter in April, 2020. The letter says that she can only submit her passport when primary applicant (myself, resident of Canada) gets a confirmation about PR. Due to covid-19 delays, I got confirmation of my PR in Feb, 2021. The email from IRCC confirming the PR status also mentioned
"Please note that your overseas dependant(s) will be issued a letter regarding their permanent resident visa once IRCC offices overseas re-open and resume normal operations. Your dependant(s) will not be able to travel to Canada at this time to be landed.". Is this some auto-generated email which landing office sends?
I am now confused on weather my spouse should go ahead with passport submission because the previous letter requested the passport and the IRCC email says a letter regarding PR Visa will be issued once IRCC office re-opens.
Anyone in similar situation or any idea on what next steps should be?
