Passport requested New Delhi

My parents have applied for Canadian Permanent Residence in Family Class, and have finished their medicals. They got notification to submit their passports for visa stamping on March 12 2013. We submitted the passports to the VFS center in Bangalore (where we live) on March 17th 2013, as the mail from CIC said that the passports would be returned with the visa in 10 days if submitted to the local center. However, the status message on their website says the passports are now in New Delhi and under processing. Its already been over a month. Does anyone how long it takes for them to return the passports? Is there any way to expedite this by calling them/contacting them directly?

Can take up to 8 weeks. No use for expediting as there is no priority processing of such case at CHC.

Strange, VFS return is typically 10 days whereas direct to CIC takes time. Contact VFS and see if they can inquire as it shouldnt take more than 10 days from VFS
