I got an email today requexsting for passport and RPRF and to submit them to Buffallo office in next 30 days. I am quite happy to get PPR but confused how to send my passport as I live in India. I read that CIC will not return passports outside Canada or USA.
Just wondering how all the other applicants send their passports.

1. You are either going to have to hand carry the passport to the US or authorize someone else to take them to the US, submit them to Buffalo, and then return them to India.
carrying by hand may be not feasible .. not sure if I can secure a VISA to US in this short period .. can I courier the passports to someone in US and provided them with authorization so that they can have it stamped and return the passports back..

congrats... whats the exact details on your ecas status? Yes you can authorize someone you trust to do that for you in the US, but I understand its illegal to post a passport from India???
thanks all for the response .. I am even considering to travel on my own to US. I have a valid US visitor visa (got te VISA when I was in Canada). Can I travel now from India to US for VISA stamping .. will there be any issues at the port of entry?
thanks jsa ... I was very anxious and nervous to send my passports via courier and provide a return address in canada .. rather it's a safe bet to travel on my own to buffallo for stamping .. though it costs me dearly
I am primary applicant and I have my wife and child as dependants. Can I travel to USA alone and carry my wife's and child's passport for stamping or should we all travel to US fro stamping. In the email I received, there is nothing mentioned about interview .. does that mean, it's waived off ..

One option is to travel with family to Buffalo, get the passport stamped in-person and then complete the landing formalities in Niagara falls and then return to India.
Have the PR card sent to a friends Canadian address. Its safer to have the PR card couriered internationally than the passports. Completing the landing part in same trip is a definite advantage.
one more query .. is it required entire family to land together .. or can I lan first and then my family .. if I travel to US alone for stamping, I am thinking I can also complete landing formalities and then later my family can join me and complete formalities at that time.
