My wife and I applied 8 months ago for her permanent residency outside of Canada. Just yesterday we received the passport request letter! We have 30 days and since shes Korean, we do not have to send the passport, but just a photocopy.
So, my questions:
1) How long does it take after sending this to a Visa Processing Center?
2) What happens next? Will we have a time frame that we must move to Canada or at least visit Canada to pick something up?
Sorry, but I couldn't find a good answer to these questions.
1) Not sure of the timeline for your office - best to look at spreadsheets on the thread specific to your visa office
2) They will give you COPR paper which has an expiry date on it - usually 1 year after she took her medical, or when her passport expires, whichever is sooner. You just have to come and activate the PR with that paper and her passport within this time frame. You don't have to move here at that time, but ensure that you both continue to live together in whatever country for the first 2 years though, as it is a requirement of her PR.
