passport request. and a few questions

hi.i had submitted my online application for TRV in abu dhabi a month ago. yesterday i got passport request.. what does it means? visa granted. ?

ok. so i have to attend a conference in canada which begin on 9th august.. so i wonder if i submit my passport on sunday in VFS abu dhabi. will i get passport before 8th? likely no..

but i wonder if i can go to embassy in person and request? is it possible?

It means they need your passport. There are no hidden meanings in CIC requests.

It is usually 2-5 business days + mailing time.

but i wonder if i can go to embassy in person and request? is it possible?

You need to check the embassy's website and look for that info. Usually they do not give service to people as it would be unfair for people who cannot personally pick up their passport.
